In October 2022, I began my on-year term as Monitoring Liaison on the national board. SinC volunteers conduct a nation-wide effort in which they track published reviews of books by writers of crime fiction. The Monitoring Project, launched by SinC founder Sarah Paretsky 30 plus years ago, seeks to count how many books by women and men are reviewed each year. The project looks at national and regional newspapers as well as journals, magazines, and other print outlets. Based on this data, the Monitoring committee writes an annual report which is available on the SinC website.
